Yesterday, Judicial Watch announced that on May 23, 2017, the National Security Council (NSC), informed it by letter that the materials pertaining to the unmasking of “the identities of any U.S. citizens associated with the Trump presidential campaign or transition team” at the hands of Obama National Security Advisor Susan Rice, were removed government possession.
Yes, apparently, the documents were moved to the “memory hole” known as the Obama Presidential Library.
Per Judicial Watch:
The NSC will not fulfill an April 4 Judicial Watch request for records regarding information relating to people “who were identified pursuant to intelligence collection activities.”
The agency also informed Judicial Watch that it would not turn over communications with any Intelligence Community member or agency concerning the alleged Russian involvement in the 2016 presidential election; the hacking of DNC computers; or the suspected communications between Russia and Trump campaign/transition officials. Specifically, the NSC told Judicial Watch:
“Documents from the Obama administration have been transferred to the Barack Obama Presidential Library. You may send your request to the Obama Library. However, you should be aware that under the Presidential Records Act, Presidential records remain closed to the public for five years after an administration has left office.”
In response to this breaking news, President of Judicial Watch, Tom Fitton said, “Prosecutors, Congress, and the public will want to know when the National Security Council shipped off the records about potential intelligence abuses by the Susan Rice and others in the Obama White House to the memory hole of the Obama Presidential Library. We are considering our legal options but we hope that the Special Counsel and Congress also consider their options and get these records.”
