December 7, 1941-a date that has lived in infamy, and today marks 75 years since the attack on Pearl Harbor.
More than 2,400 Americans were killed and almost as many were wounded in the strike that pulled our forces into World War II.
Today, hundreds of survivors will join thousands at the site to honor and remember those who made the ultimate sacrifice.
Here at home, a public remembrance ceremony will be held this morning at the Historic Union Cemetery on Potomac Avenue at 9:50 a.m. That’s 7:40 a.m. Hawaiian time, approximately the time of the attack 75 years ago.
Participants will honor the attack victims and the survivors with a bell ringing, wreath laying and balloon release.
