Brian Thomas reports excuses for why she lost, not Christmas, was the the theme on Thursday, at Hillary Clinton’s holiday party at an upscale New York City hotel.
Just over a month after Clinton lost the presidential election, Clinton gathered with top donors and advisers to her failed campaign for president and let the public know that she certainly has not moved on from her defeat.
Clinton maintained at the party that “swing state voters made their decisions in the final days, breaking against me, because of the FBI letter from Richard Comey.”
Instead of blaming herself for setting up an insecure private server, putting some 30,000 emails at risk for hacking, including 110 classified emails, Clinton blamed the investigation of her carelessness by the FBI.
Clinton also blamed Putin, in spite of the fact that Russia did not engage in any vote tampering.
Clinton seems to be maintaining the notion that Russia was behind Wikileaks’ release of the Podesta emails, in spite of the fact that Wikileaks founder, Julian Assange, denies that the hacked emails came from Russia.
As Sean Hannity points out on Fox News, “Whether you like Julian Assange and Wikileaks or not, for ten years they have never been proven to have gotten anything wrong. Not one time.”
Leaked information may have exposed Clinton’s corruption. But it’s not Wikileaks’ fault Clinton lost the election. Russia also isn’t to blame, and neither is the FBI. Clinton lost the election, and she has nobody to blame but herself.
That, of course, didn’t stop her from turning a Christmas party into a somber affair.
“It was like a wake with a band,” quipped one guest who was at the Plaza Hotel told The New York Post’ Page Six. The holiday party included top-tier donors, VIP boosters and campaign advisers.
The source said, “It was a little bit of group therapy and a lot of love” among the losing Democratic rainmakers.
Spotted in the crowd were Clinton advisers Huma Abedin, John Podesta and Robby Mook, donors Alan Patricof, Bernard Schwartz, Marc Lasry, Jay Snyder and Robert Zimmerman, designers Vera Wang and Tory Burch, plus Anna Wintour, Harvey Weinstein and restaurateur Danny Meyer.
There has been a confluence of news stories that may have contributed to the feelings. Clinton, herself, earlier this month called the rise of so-called fake news an epidemic in American politics, saying it is “now clear” fake news has “real-world consequences.”
Write off the facts as fake news, and Clinton can keep most liberals just as miserable as she is, even at a holiday celebration.
