Michael Steven Sandford, 20, pleaded guilty to charges of illegal weapon possession and disorderly conduct—and not for the attempted murder of a United States presidential candidate, Reuters reports.
Sandford was in America illegally when he tried to grab a policeman’s gun and shoot Donald Trump.
He has overstayed his tourist visa by ten months, but he apparently had no fear of being scooped up by ICE and sent back to England.
The plea agreement reportedly did not even bother noting the illegal immigrant had confessed to trying to harm, much less kill, the Republican presidential candidate.
Sandford was charged with felonies related to being an illegal alien in possession of a firearm and for disrupting “government business,” but no where in the court record does it state he tried to kill Donald Trump.
The charges to which Sandford pleaded guilty carry a maximum penalty of ten years in prison and a $250,000 fine. He will not be sentenced for his crimes until late December.
During his brief trial, Michael Sandford admitted he had walked over to a police officer claiming to want an autograph from Donald Trump and then tried to take the officer’s gun from its holster.
The day before the Donald Trump assassination attempt, Sandford went to a gun range to take shooting lessons with a rented Glock handgun.
He fired 20 rounds at parer targets, according to court documents, after driving from California to Las Vegas to shoot and kill Donald Trump.
Had it not been for the quick actions of a Las Vegas police officer, America would have been robbed of its chance to have a real change-maker in the Oval Office.
