The Belapur Court remanded the pastor to police prison for five days after he was appeared in court.
The pastor, 55, who was detained by Navi Mumbai Police on charges of abusing young girls in the church is also accused of abusing every lady who enters the shelter house. The pastor would touch their intimate areas while pretending to administer Vicks and oil, and if they retaliated, he would beat them or lock them in the lavatory, according to three survivors who have come forward. The Belapur Court remanded the pastor to police prison for five days after he was appeared in court.
The District Child Protection Unit and Child Welfare Committee counseled the children after rescuing 45 juveniles from the Bethel Gospel Pentecostal Church in Nerul and discovered them sharing traumatic stories. Three young ladies, ages 14 to 18, have come forward to report that the church’s pastor, Rajkumar Yesudadan, used to touch them indecently. He would claim to be the son of God. A 14-year-old victim claims that she was transported to the refuge residence in June 2021.
He visited me while I was dozing off and used vaporub on my neck, chest, and other areas. I was startled and speechless, so I remained silent. “He repeated the same act 10–12 times on the same night,” the victim alleged in a midday interview. He would claim that since it is a spiritual act, no one should protest.
According to Senior Inspector Ravindra Patil of the NRI Coastal Police station, the priest denied the accusations. They also got a tip-off that one of the girls at the shelter home got pregnant, but the kids haven’t talked about any abortion as of yet. “We want to investigate how long has it been going on and whether he assaulted boys as well.”
