Prime Minister Lapid of Israel charges Iran with orchestrating an anti-Semitic “orchestra of hate” against his country.
In his remarks to the UN General Assembly on Thursday, Israeli Prime Minister Yair Lapid singled out Iran, charging the Islamic country with orchestrating an anti-Semitic campaign against Israel.
Iran was linked to both of the “two major risks” Lapid mentioned to Israel.
The first concern is the nuclear one—the worry that terrorist states and terrorist groups may acquire nuclear weapons—and the second is the end of reality, according to Lapid. “Lies and fake news are progressively poisoning our democracies; rash politicians, dictatorial nations, and extremist organizations are destroying our sense of truth.”
Lapid used the publication of a Palestinian 3-year-old named Malak al-Tanani, who was allegedly killed alongside her parents in an Israeli airstrike, to illustrate the second point.
“It was a heartbreaking image, but Malak Al Tanani doesn’t exist. The photo was taken from Instagram. It is of a girl from Russia,” he said.
Lapid added, “The anti-Israel movement has been propagating these lies for years in the media, on college campuses, and on social media. I can give you thousands more examples of identical fake news about Israel. Why are you willing to listen is the question, not why they do it.
It’s all about antisemitism, according to Lapid.
Antisemitism, in his words, “is assessing Israel by a different standard than any other country. Antisemitism is the propensity to believe the worst about the Jews, without questioning,” he stated.
Iran is in charge of this orchestra of hatred, according to Lapid. He mentioned how American and Israeli flags are frequently seen being burned on Iranian streets, which begs the question of where these flags originated.
He responded, “They are specifically creating these so they can burn them. “This is what a hate-based industry looks like.”

He continued, “The Iranian dictatorship hates Jews, hates women, hates homosexual people, and hates the West. Salman Rushdie and Mahsa Amini are two examples of Muslims who are hated and killed because they hold opposing views; their hatred is a mechanism for them to maintain their repressive control.
Regarding the other threat Israel faces, the nuclear one, Lapid claimed that Iran is the only UN member state that openly calls for the eradication of another member state.

Lapid proclaimed, “If the Iranian regime acquires a nuclear weapon, they will use it.” Iran needs to be warned that the world will use military force, not words, to stop it from advancing its nuclear program. Every time such a threat has been made in the past, Iran has backed down.
Lapid emphasized the importance of the Jewish state’s status as well.
“The Jews today have a state,” he said in an unspoken contrast to the time of the Holocaust. “We have an army. We have great friendships, first and foremost with the United States. We have capabilities and we are not afraid to use them. We will do whatever it takes: Iran will not get a nuclear weapon. We will not stand by while there are those who try to kill us. Not again. Never Again.”
