It’s important to stand with Taiwan against China. But we must recognize that Beijing’s leaders view visits by US lawmakers as a provocation
If we continue to poke the communist dictatorship in the eye, it will hasten its preparations to attack Taiwan. We must not, however, tremble in terror at the Chinese dictator. Instead, we shall steadfastly support our democratic buddy while also assembling our forces for a counterattack.
On August 26, Senator Marsha Blackburn, R-Tenn., led the third U.S. congressional delegation this month to the island nation, further putting Washington’s tight relationship with Beijing to the test. This was the latest “poke” at the Chinese government. Gov. Eric Holcomb, a Democrat from Indiana, visited Taiwan earlier in the week to meet with President Tsai Ing-Wen.
This surge of visits from the Congress and other governments undoubtedly drew the Beijing regime’s notice. There will undoubtedly be more military saber-rattling in response to these recent uninvited visits, but sooner or later, the sword will be pulled and not put away before a full-fledged assault takes Taiwan.
China And Russia Are Disrupting, Threatening World Order: Taiwan’s President Tsai Ing-Wen
Taiwan’s President Tsai Ing-Wen met US Senator Marsha Blackburn. Her Taiwan visit is third high-level visit this month after Nancy Pelosi’s visit.
China and Russia are “disrupting and jeopardizing the world order,” according to Taiwan’s President Tsai Ing-wen, who mentioned Russia’s invasion of Ukraine and China’s recent military maneuvers around Taiwan as examples.
Speaking during a meeting in Taipei with US Senator Marsha Blackburn, Tsai labelled the two countries as “authoriatarian” and Blackburn said she “looked forward to continuing to support Taiwan as they push forward as an independent nation”.
