A few years ago during a cold winter here in Norway, there were power shortage, Norway was forced to import electricity. Politicians were discussing building a gas powered power station, they ended up building it at Kårstø in 2007. It was tore down in 2017 because it wasn’t possible to sell electricity from gas powered power stations at a price low enough to compete with hydro .. Another huge reason is: LNG can’t be used in Norway because, like in the US, fossil fuels produced domestically are polluting way more when it is used – domestically – much more than when it is exported and used – overseas, according to the logic of the “greens”
