After Massive Backlash, Johnny Depp Crumbles and Apologizes to Trump

After Hollywood celebrity Johnny Depp made audacious comments about assassinating President Trump, he’s now attempting to walk it back after receiving massive backlash from fans and Trump supporters on Twitter.

On Thursday, at the Glastonbury Festival in England, Johnny Depp made disparaging comments towards President Trump, asking the audience, “when was the last time an actor assassinated a president?”

Depp was promptly roasted by thousands of angry Trump supporting patriots on Twitter, who did not appreciate his disgusting, thoughtless comments.

As left-wing violence continues to run rampant in America, including the planned shooting of Republican lawmakers, Hollywood celebrities continue to promote violent rhetoric and hatred towards President Trump.

Americans are quickly getting angry with the relentless attacks, threats, and calls to violence, and are beginning to loudly shame the liberal celebs, lying mainstream media, and hateful Democrat politicians.

Actor Johnny Depp apologized on Friday for reportedly joking about assassinating President Trump during an appearance at an arts festival on Thursday.

“I apologize for the bad joke I attempted last night in poor taste about President Trump,” Depp said in a statement to People magazine. “It did not come out as intended, and I intended no malice. I was only trying to amuse, not to harm anyone.”

Speaking at Glastonbury Festival in England on Thursday, Depp asked the audience “when was the last time an actor assassinated a president.”

“I’m not insinuating anything — by the way, this will be in the press and it will be horrible — but when was the last time an actor assassinated a president?” Depp asked the audience.

The line was an apparent reference to Abraham Lincoln’s 1865 assassination by actor and Confederate sympathizer John Wilkes Booth at Ford’s Theatre in Washington.

Depp faced immediate backlash for the remarks, becoming the latest celebrity to come under fire for making apparently violent remarks about Trump.

Comedian Kathy Griffin faced scrutiny last month after she posed for a photoshoot holding what appeared to be the fake severed head of Trump.

CNN later terminated its contract with Griffin to appear on the network’s New Year’s Eve program.
