Since the start of 2023, Republicans have been investigating Joe Biden over his alleged connections to his son Hunter’s extremely lucrative multi-million dollar influence peddling scheme spanning decades.
In December, Republicans voted to formalize their ongoing impeachment inquiry because they believe it will force the administration to turn over documents and provide witness testimony after months of stonewalling.
They are working toward building up enough evidence to show Joe was involved in Hunter’s dealings in order to hold a formal impeachment vote in the House in 2024.
GOP investigators are also examining how the Biden Justice Department has allegedly slow walked the criminal investigation into Hunter for tax evasion and gun crimes.
While President Biden has maintained his innocence, saying he has never been involved in his son’s shady business dealings, Republicans say the White House’s recent flip flops on their official statements pushing back on the ‘political’ GOP-led probe is a sign they are scrambling.
The White House’s shifting defense started with Joe had ‘never discussed’ and had no knowledge of Hunter’s business dealings. It has since evolved into the president had never been ‘in business’ or ‘financially involved’ with his son.
In September, former House Speaker Kevin McCarthy unilaterally launched an impeachment inquiry over the Biden family’s ‘culture of corruption’ that he said could take down President Biden’s political career.
Since then, the House Oversight, Judiciary and Ways and Means Committees have issued subpoenas to the top players involved including Hunter Biden, James Biden and other family members, donors and business associates.
But how did Hunter get his hands on a 2.8-carat diamond from the Chinese, $83,000 a month from Ukrainians and $1 million from mysterious Romanians?
By trading in on the Biden family’s influential ‘brand,’ the GOP claims.

House investigators worked overtime in 2023 to investigate the massive web of wire transfers, 20 shell companies, and associates who helped the Biden family business raked in at least $24 million from foreign nationals over the course of approximately five years.
Below are the top five 2023 revelations from the House investigation into President Joe Biden, along with James and Hunter Biden:
1) James Comer: Joe Biden Received $40,000 in China Money Again Disguised as Loan Repayment
Joe Biden received $40,000 in laundered CEFC China Energy Co. money in 2017 from the account of his brother, James Biden, and sister-in-law, Sara Biden, once again in the form of a personal check labeled as a “loan repayment,” House Oversight Committee Chair James Comer (R-KY) uncovered in November.
The revelation is the second instance Joe Biden personally accepted a suspicious personal check from his brother James, who was involved in the Biden family’s overseas business ventures. Joe Biden has denied any involvement in Biden family business ventures at least nine times.
The discovery justifies concerns raised by Republicans that the Biden business compromised Joe Biden. It also lends further credence to the impeachment inquiry into the president.
2) James Comer: FBI Tipped off Hunter Biden to Interview, Confirming IRS Whistleblowers
FBI officials tipped off Hunter Biden in the Bureau’s criminal probe of him and told a former FBI supervisory special agent to stand by and not approach him, Comer announced in July, confirming key portions of the IRS whistle blower allegations.
Upon sitting for a transcribed interview with the committee, the former FBI agent told the committee that FBI officials in December 2020 tipped off both the Secret Service and the Biden transition team about a scheduled interview about its criminal investigation into Hunter Biden.
The FBI agent said because of the tipoff, the agent never interviewed Hunter Biden.

WASHINGTON — The former federal prosecutor who allegedly shielded President Biden and his son Hunter during a criminal investigation testified 79 times to Congress that she was “not authorized” by the Justice Department to answer questions about the case, according to a transcript reviewed by The Post.
Former Delaware Assistant US Attorney Lesley Wolf repeatedly cited a five-page authorization letter from Associate Deputy Attorney General Bradley Weinsheimer as she refused to answer questions during a House Judiciary Committee deposition last week.
Weinsheimer’s Dec. 12 letter, also reviewed by The Post, says: “[T]he Department generally does not authorize congressional testimony from line-level personnel, especially relating to an ongoing investigation with charges pending in court. The Department has declined to do so in connection with this matter.”
Wolf’s dozens of refusals to answer questions — just one day after the full House voted to authorize an impeachment inquiry into President Biden — frustrated attempts to firm up the storyline involving what whistleblowers say was a sweeping cover-up by Wolf and colleagues to protect the Biden family.
The near-blanket rejection of questions follows pressure from House Republicans on the administration to allow witness testimony and could bolster GOP arguments that the White House is obstructing the inquiry, which itself could form an article of impeachment.
Two IRS agents who worked on the long-running tax fraud investigation into Hunter Biden, which focused on his foreign income from countries such as China and Ukraine, alleged in prior testimony to House committees that Wolf tipped off the first son’s lawyers to investigative steps and forbade inquiries into Joe Biden, even when communications mentioned him.
Wolf served on the squad of prosecutors that signed off on a probation-only plea deal in June for the first son on tax and gun charges, which fell apart the following month under scrutiny from a federal judge.
