Average global surface temperature is currently at: 57.44°F/14.13°C. (Over 61.000 unadjusted surface temperature measurements over the last hours).
That is 0,27°C. BELOW the temperature 146 years ago, and it is below the average of 1913, 1991, 2013, 2018, ref.: https://temperature.global/
However, the energy transportation from a warmer sea surface due to an early build up to a strong El Niño in the pacific seems to have started, resulting in an uptick in atmospheric temperature of 0,64C. (above the baseline), it can also be the sun, or the result of the Hunga-Tonga eruption of Jan 15, 2022 (see link above) – A strong El Niño in a cooling world …
The point is, no matter the explanation, it certainly doesn’t correlate with CO2 in any way, shape or form because CO2 warming, if it was real (it’s not!!), would cause the … especially the surface to warm according to the AGW theory. But here we see the atmosphere temperature is warmer while the surface temperature is flat, or falling.
A warmer sea surface looks like the most plausible explanation, a strong hurricane season in the Pacific, so far with many hurricanes hitting China recently seems to be supporting that hypothesis.
