Exclusive — Republican Senators Warn Against Immigration Deal

Published January 20, 2024

Sens. Mike Braun (R-IN), Marsha Blackburn (R-TN), and Tim Scott (R-SC) on Breitbart News Saturday warned against the bipartisan immigration deal, believing it would do nothing to stem the migrant crisis at the southern border.

Sen. James Lankford (R-OK) and congressional Democrats have struck an immigration framework that Breitbart News has detailed would only reward illegal immigration and encourage more foreign graduates to take jobs from American graduates.

An agreed border deal would:

1) Increase green cards by 50,000/year

2) Award work permits for adult children of H-1B holders

3) Give mmediate work permits to every illegal alien released from custody

4) Assign taxpayer funded lawyers to certain UACs and mentally incompetent aliens

5) Increase expulsion authority for a limited number of days ONLY if encounters exceed 5k/day over a seven day period

6) Restrict parole for those who enter without authorization between ports of entry

On Breitbart News Saturday, Blackburn, Braun, and Scott said that the immigration deal would not fix the migrant crisis.

Braun said the border deal “does nothing to fix” the border crisis.

RELATED: Biden says he’s hopeful immigration deal will land next week

President Joe Biden speaks in Blue Bell, Pennsylvania, on January 5, 2024.
Published January 19, 2024

President Joe Biden said he is hopeful a bipartisan immigration package will emerge next week in the Senate that could eventually unlock an impasse over his broader funding request for Ukraine aide.

Speaking to a group of mayors from across the country in the White House on Friday, Biden said he is seeking “massive changes” to US immigration rules. The president has maintained he is open to sweeping policy changes related to immigration to get the deal through. Republicans in Congress have blocked Biden’s request for tens of billions in new assistance for Ukraine as they seek a tightening of new border rules.

“My team has been at the table for weeks now with a bipartisan group of senators to negotiate a deal, including border, because I believe we need significant policy changes at the border, including changes in our asylum system to ensure that we have authorities we need to control the border. And I’m ready to act,” Biden the mayors Friday.

His comments sounded the most optimistic note yet that a breakthrough on immigration – an issue that has nagged at Biden throughout his presidency – could be imminent. The issue has plagued Congress and presidents – Democrats and Republicans – for decades.

The group of mayors was in Washington attending the winter meeting of the United States Mayors Conference. At the conference, several Texas mayors told CNN they were frustrated with the constant political posturing between the federal government and Texas Gov. Greg Abbott over the issue, which they described as a true humanitarian crisis.

While migration from the US southern border has slowed in recent weeks, the number of migrants last year at times overwhelmed border cities. The influx prompted Abbott to take increasingly drastic steps, including installing razor wire along the border and signing a law that makes illegal immigration a state crime, usurping the typical federal authority over immigration-related law enforcement.

Washington, DC – The White House has upped pressure on members of the United States Congress as it seeks a deal that could see aid for Ukraine approved in exchange for possible asylum restrictions.

Ornela Medom, a 28-year-old who fled war-torn Cameroon, is among those currently seeking asylum in the US. At a “Save Asylum” demonstration outside the Capitol, she told Al Jazeera she is horrified by what a new immigration deal could bring.

“I’m so sad and I’m so scared,” Medom said on Thursday, only a day after Republican and Democratic senators said a vote on a deal could be imminent.

Also on Wednesday, Speaker Mike Johnson suggested Republicans in the House of Representatives may take an even harder line on access at the US-Mexico border.

“Our lives depend on these secret negotiations that are ongoing,” said Medom, who arrived in the US through the southern border in April. “I am pleading for them to think about us”.

A slate of progressive and Hispanic legislators also attended Thursday’s news conference, appealing to Democrats not to accept major changes to US border law as part of any deal.

Why do CO2 lag behind temperature?

71% of the earth is covered by ocean, water is a 1000 times denser than air and the mass of the oceans are 360 times that of the atmosphere, small temperature changes in the oceans doesn’t only modulate air temperature, but it also affect the CO2 level according to Henry’s Law.

The reason it is called “Law” is because it has been “proven”!

“.. scientific laws describe phenomena that the scientific community has found to be provably true ..”

That means, the graph proves CO2 do not control temperature, that again proves (Man Made) Global Warming, now called “Climate Change” due to lack of … Warming is – again – debunked!
