Kim Jong Un said the ‘direction of struggle’ for 2024 would include ‘militant tasks’ for People’s Army
Supreme leader of North Korea Kim Jong Un spoke at a key meeting of the rogue nation’s ruling party, underscoring his desire to align with foreign nations against U.S. interests in the region.
Speaking from the stage and backed by large, crimson displays bearing the Workers’ Party of Korea emblem, Kim offered the “direction of struggle” for the upcoming year.
“He set forth the militant tasks for the People’s Army and the munitions industry, nuclear weapons and civil defense sectors to further accelerate the war preparations, on the basis of in-depth analysis of the grave political and military situation in the Korean peninsula which reached [the] extreme due to the anti-DPRK confrontation moves of the US and its vassal forces unprecedented in history.,” Korean Central News Agency reported.

North Korean leader Kim Jong-un has called for stepped-up efforts to prepare for war, saying the United States is engaged in “unprecedented” acts of confrontation against the country, state media reported Thursday.
In the second-day session of the plenary meeting of the ruling Workers’ Party on Wednesday, Kim also presented a goal of strengthening strategic cooperation with “anti-imperialist” countries, according to the Korean Central News Agency (KCNA).
“He set forth the militant tasks for the People’s Army and the munitions industry, nuclear weapons and civil defense sectors to further accelerate the war preparations,” the KCNA said in an English-language dispatch.
He said the security situation on the Korean Peninsula has become extremely dangerous due to what he claims are “unprecedented” U.S.-led confrontational moves against North Korea.

SEOUL: North Korean leader Kim Jong Un urged his party to “accelerate” war preparations including its nuclear programme, state media said on Thursday (Dec 28).
The comments came just a week after Kim warned Pyongyang would not hesitate to launch a nuclear attack if “provoked” with nukes.
Kim made the comments at the North’s ongoing year-end party meeting, where he is expected to unveil key policy decisions for 2024.
