Maine GOP State Rep Moves to Impeach Secretary of State Shenna Bellows for Removing Trump from Ballot

Published January 2, 2024

A Maine state representative is seeking to impeach Maine Secretary of State Shenna Bellows after Bellows decided that former President Donald Trump should be removed from the presidential ballot in her state.

On Thursday, Bellows, a Democrat, announced that in response to petitions filed to remove Trump from the 2024 ballot, she had ruled that Trump was covered by a section of the 14th Amendment that bars those who have engaged in insurrection against the United States from taking office.

The ruling was suspended in anticipation of appeals.

On the same day the ruling was issued, Republican state Rep. John Andrews announced in a Facebook post his filing of a “request with the Maine Revisor’s Office for a Joint Order to impeach” Bellows.

“I wish to file a Joint Order, or whichever is the proper parliamentary mechanism under Mason’s Rules, to impeach Secretary of State Shenna Bellows,” Andrews said in the post.

“I wish to impeach Secretary Bellows on the grounds that she is barring an American citizen and 45th President of the United States, who is convicted of no crime or impeachment, their right to appear on a Maine Republican Primary ballot,” he said.

Andrews based his claim on the Maine Constitution’s “Article IV: Part 1st: Section 8 ‘Power of impeachment. The House of Representatives shall have the sole power of impeachment,” his Facebook post said.

“Donald J. Trump has met all qualifications for the March 2024 Republican Presidential Primary. He should be allowed on the ballot. This is raw partisanship and has no place in the offices of our state’s Constitutional Officers,” the legislator wrote.

The Maine official who moved to disqualify former President Donald Trump from the state’s 2024 Republican primary ballot on Thursday visited the White House this year to meet with President Biden and previously referred to the Electoral College as a “relic of white supremacy.”

On two separate occasions this year — once in March and another time in June — Maine Secretary of State Shenna Bellows, a Democrat, was invited to the White House, according to White House visitor logs.

Bellows’ first trip came after she was invited to attend a Women’s History Month event held on March 22 at the White House, where she met with Biden and snapped a photo with him.

Bellows took to social media to share the photo she took with Biden at the March event and described the “amazing” experience she had meeting the president.

“Birthday jaunt to DC for a Women’s History Month event at the White House yesterday and walking around today,” she added in the post to Facebook at the time, according to the Washington Free Beacon, the initial outlet to report on Bellows’ trips to the White House.

Bellows’ March trip to the White House was also promoted by the secretary of state’s office in a press release earlier this year, in which she said it was “an honor to join” Biden, Vice President Kamala Harris, and other female leaders from across the country.

“It was an honor to join President Biden, Vice President Harris and amazing female leaders from around the country to celebrate Women’s History Month at the White House yesterday,” Bellows said at the time. “I hope to someday see the last of the ‘firsts’ like myself, but as we continue to see these groundbreaking leaders in new positions of power, I look forward to celebrating them as part of our nation’s history.”

Bellows’ second trip came on June 6, when she traveled to the White House with more than a dozen others to meet with Justin Vail, a special assistant to Biden. That trip, according to social media posts by others who made the journey with Bellows, appears to have been organized by Issue One Reform, which describes itself as “the leading crosspartisan political reform group” in D.C. that works to “unite Republicans, Democrats, and independents in the movement to fix our broken political system and build an inclusive democracy that works for everyone.”

RELATED: Maine Secretary of State Shenna Bellows’s house swatted after Trump ballot decision

Published December 30, 2023

The home of Maine Secretary of State Shenna Bellows was swatted on Friday night while she was away with her family for the holiday weekend, the secretary confirmed via social media on Saturday.

Law enforcement officials are investigating the incident, which reportedly occurred after a man called the Augusta Regional Communication Center to report that he had broken into the state official’s house. However, when Maine State Police responded to the home, no one was at the residence.

Swatting calls are considered fake emergency calls that are intended to bring a large number of law enforcement to a particular address to scare the homeowners. Friday’s incident comes after Bellow decided on Thursday to keep former President Donald Trump off the Maine Republican primary ballot, which she claims has led to an increase in threats against her.

“This behavior is unacceptable,” Bellows said in a Facebook post Saturday. “The non-stop threatening communications the people who work for me endured all day yesterday is unacceptable. It’s designed to scare not only me but also others into silence, to send a message. I am so grateful to have such an amazing team of employees at the Department of Secretary of State.”

An investigation into who placed the call is underway, a state police spokesperson confirmed to the Washington Examiner.

Bellows said other people have been posting fake and dehumanizing images of her on social media, along with fake text messages. The state official warned that those actions could lead to more legitimate threats against her, her employees, and family members.

“These dehumanizing images and threatening communications directed at me and people I love are dangerous,” Bellows said. “We should be able to agree to disagree on important issues without threats and violence.

Bellows also said her personal address has also been posted online.

Why do CO2 lag behind temperature?

71% of the earth is covered by ocean, water is a 1000 times denser than air and the mass of the oceans are 360 times that of the atmosphere, small temperature changes in the oceans doesn’t only modulate air temperature, but it also affect the CO2 level according to Henry’s Law.

The reason it is called “Law” is because it has been “proven”!

“.. scientific laws describe phenomena that the scientific community has found to be provably true ..”

That means, the graph proves CO2 do not control temperature, that again proves (Man Made) Global Warming, now called “Climate Change” due to lack of … Warming is – again – debunked!
