- Former House Speaker Nancy Pelosi said most new damning details emerging about Donald Trump on January 6, 2021 are from Republicans and allies
- Allies say Trump ‘wasn’t interested’ in discouraging violence at the Capitol Jan. 6
Former House Speaker Nancy Pelosi says new details emerging in Special Counsel Jack Smith’s investigation into the January 6 Capitol attack are coming mostly from those previously aligned with Donald Trump.
It comes amid the revelation of new details from interviews claiming Trump ‘wasn’t interested’ in doing anything to stop his supporters from rioting at the Capitol following his 2020 election loss to Joe Biden.
Much of the new details come from Smith’s questioning of Trump’s former deputy chief of staff, Dan Scavino, according to an ABC News report.
Pelosi highlighted this on Sunday, saying in an interview on ABC This Week that the damning testimony is ‘overwhelmingly coming from the Republicans.’
The California Democrat was Speaker of the House at the time of the riot and helped lead probes into Trump both during and following his departure from office.

RELATED: George Stephanopoulos Stunned After Pelosi Suggests States Can Overrule Constitution and Ban Trump From Presidential Ballot (VIDEO)
Published January 7, 2024
Former House Speaker Nancy Pelosi (D-CA) on Sunday suggested the states can overrule the US Constitution and ban Trump from the presidential ballot.
Pelosi appeared on ABC’s “This Week” to discuss Trump’s Colorado ballot appeal to the US Supreme Court with host George Stephanopoulos.
Last week President Trump asked the US Supreme Court to overturn the Colorado Supreme Court’s decision to bar him from the 2024 ballot.
The Colorado Supreme Court last month disqualified Trump from the 2024 ballot.
On Friday the US Supreme Court agreed to hear oral arguments in the Colorado ballot case.
The legal theories are based on Section 3 of the US Constitution’s 14th Amendment which states public officials who have “engaged in insurrection or rebellion against” the US may be disqualified from public office.
Trump has not been charged with engaging in insurrection or rebellion against the United States.

Representative Nancy Pelosi (D-CA) said Sunday on ABC’s “This Week” that she wished more Republicans would accept the “truth” that former President Donald Trump “incited an insurrection.”
Pelosi said, “What’s interesting about it all is that in every case, every piece of this, whether it was our case in terms of the Electoral College, whether it was what happened with the January 6 Select Committee, or this testimony now, it’s all coming from Republicans in the Select Committee except for maybe the poll workers and I don’t know what party they are. All of the other testimony came from Republicans, Republican officials, Republican staffers of the president, and now further to that. So it’s very clear what happened that day.”
She continued, “At that same time, from the undisclosed location, Chuck Schumer and Mitch McConnell and I were begging the administration to send the National Guard, to send the National Guard.
