EL PASO, Texas — A group of over 100 migrants attempted to enter the US illegally by rushing a border wall Thursday, breaking through razor wire and knocking over guards in the process.
The Post had earlier witnessed around 600 migrants massed at the international border, as part of a “spring surge” of migrants hoping to gain access to the US.
The Texas National Guard was attempting to organize them into smaller groups, but the situation grew tense after some women and children were separated from adult males by the guardsmen.
Video taken by The Post showed one set of migrants, mostly single men, then rushing the Texas troops.
A group of men with hoodies, gloves and winter jackets could be seen pulling fencing away and dashing through the concertina wire, as a group of five guards stood in a defensive formation to fill the gap.

President Joe Biden arrived in Texas Thursday morning as more than 100 illegal immigrants rushed the southern border.
However, Biden’s visit had nothing to do with the chaos that erupted at the U.S.-Mexico border just hours away from where the president was.
Instead, he was in Dallas to attend two private fundraising events ahead of the November 2024 election.
But that shouldn’t come to much surprise, given that the last four years of his presidency Biden has refused to do as much as acknowledge that the United States is facing one of the the worst border crises in modern history due to his progressive far-Left policies.
And if you ask anyone in Biden’s administration about the border crisis and the millions of illegal immigrants crossing into the country daily, they’d tell you the border is “secure” and “safe.”

New York Post Texas Reporter Jennie Taer says Joe Biden “has not done anything” about the border crisis.
Illegal immigrants trying to enter the United States at the El Paso border in Texas have overrun the Texas National Guard.
According to US Customs and Border Protection data, 68,260 migrants crossed the border in Texas in January – a drop from the 149,806 who entered in December.
“The President has been in Texas, but he has not done anything about this situation,” Ms Taer told Sky News host James Morrow.
“What evolved here is you had a group of about 600 migrants separated … and I think what happened was they realised they were being pushed back, they weren’t going to be processed and released as promised by the cartels and human smugglers, so they decided rioting would be the best course of action
