It’s probably safe to say the internet is not a place to hide for alleged sexual predators and wife beaters.
Warner Bros teased Thursday a first official look at Gellert Grindelwald, the villain in J.K. Rowling’s smash Harry Potter spinoff series “Fantastic Beasts: The Crimes of Grindelwald.”
But fans are horrified that Johnny Depp is still in the movie.
Johnny Depp as Grindelwald is stunning!!

Last year, Johnny Depp’s ex-wife Amber Heard claimed he abused her after she was seen with bruises on her face and around her eye. Heard later dropped the charges and the couple divorced shortly thereafter.

But the damage had been done. Johnny Depp was seen as abuse, and nobody wanted any part of him.
And now that he’s a part of what is sure to be a hugely successful blockbuster, people really, really don’t want any part of him.
Why are we letting Johnny Depp still be a thing

I wholeheartedly agree that Johnny Depp is a fantastic beast. However, I wish I did not know where to find him. https://t.co/WcjBZCmb7A

If they can cut & reshoot Kevin Spacey out of an entire film then #FantasticBeasts has no excuse for keeping known abuser Johnny Depp.

This is a fair point. Just last week, Kevin Spacey was cut from his upcoming Ridley Scott movie, “All The Money In The World” after sexual harassment allegations surfaced against the actor. Although Spacey is not the film’s protagonist, the movie is due out in five weeks and substituting all relevant scenes with his replacement is no easy task.
“Fantastic Beasts: The Crimes Of Grindelwald” is due out in November 2018. If pressure continues to mount against the actor, it wouldn’t be surprising to see him pulled too.
