Former President Donald Trump may have had a lot of lawfare thrown at him, but somehow he seems to keep hanging in there, despite the roadblocks laid in his way.
Now he’s prevailed in being able to secure the $175 million bond that he needed to be able to proceed with his appeal in the NY civil fraud case.
Initially, he was being required to pay a bond that was an almost insurmountable $454 million.
Without intervention from an appeals court, defense lawyers argued that Trump would suffer irreparable harm by having to sell off his namesake properties before he exhausted his appeal of the fraud ruling.
Fortunately, last Monday that amount was reduced to $175 million and he was given another ten days to be able to meet the amount.

RELATED: Trump Posts $175 Million Bond in New York Civil Case, and Shares His Thoughts to Truth Social
Published April 2, 2024
Update: Late on Monday night, former and potentially future President Donald Trump posted his thoughts to Truth Social about posting his $175 million bond.
In his lengthy post, Trump lashed out against the “Corrupt Judge and Attorney General” and mentioned other issues with the case who used a Statute that was never used for this before, where no Jury was allowed, my financial statements were conservative and had a 100% perfect caution/non-reliance clause.” His post also reminded that “there were no victims (except me!),” as he made that key distinction, adding “there was no crime or damage, there was only success and HAPPY BANKS.”
Not only did Trump mention Judge Arthur Engoron–though not by name-and New York Attorney General Letitia James, but President Joe Biden.
“The Crooked Judge, to suit his narrative, valued Mar-a-Lago, in Palm Beach, Florida, at $18,000,000, when it is worth 50 to 100 times that amount. He ruled I was guilty before he ever saw the case. He should be disbarred, and Letitia James, who campaigned on getting TRUMP, Impeached. Also posted a 91 Million Dollar Bond on another New York Fake Case, money I can’t use on my campaign. Just what Crooked Joe wanted. WITCH HUNT!”

RELATED: Trump posts massive $175M bond in civil fraud case, freeing up ex-president to start appeal and avoid seizing of assets

Donald Trump has posted a $175 million bond in his New York civil fraud case, freeing him up to start appealing the massive judgment.
The Knight Specialty Insurance Company backed the bond, an attorney for the Los Angeles-based firm wrote in a court filing Monday.
“As promised, President Trump has posted bond,” the former commander if chief’s lawyer, Alina Habba, said in a statement Monday evening. “He looks forward to vindicating his rights on appeal and overturning this unjust verdict.”
Trump, 77, successfully lobbied an appeals court to lower the bond from the full nearly half-billion judgment amount to the drastically reduced figure and gave him 10 days from the day of the decision, on March 25, to post the lessened bond.
