The American military is on heightened alert as they monitor any acts of aggression or activity by Iranian-backed groups in the Middle East following the horrific attack on innocent Israelis by the Iran-backed Hamas terror group.
On Wednesday night, multiple missiles were intercepted by the USS Carney, a U.S. Navy destroyer on the coast of Yemen in the Red Sea. The missiles appeared to head toward Israel.
Open Source Intelligence Monitor has reported on another alarming development in Northeastern Syria, with another attack on US Forces near the Al-Omar Oilfields.
According to the OSIM report, There has been significant damage to a pipeline as well as a large fire at a pipeline near a US Operations Base within the Al-Omar Oilfields of Northeastern Syria following a Rocket and Drone Attack.
On Saturday, Defense Secretary Lloyd J. Austin III announced a series of actions aimed at bolstering the United States’ military presence in the Middle East.
Following in-depth discussions with Joe Biden, these steps are in response to the recent escalations by Iran and its proxy forces across the region.

Israel-Gaza War: He told NDTV that the war could trigger a wider, more devastating Middle East conflict if Iran gets directly involved in the war.

Renowned political scientist and founder of the Eurasia Group, Ian Bremmer, today said that the ongoing war between Israel and Gaza is likely to get worse with the opening of more fronts.
In an exclusive interview, Ian Bremmer told NDTV that the war could trigger a wider, more devastating Middle East conflict if Iran gets directly involved in the fighting.
“It is quite possible that Hezbollah which is much more militarily capable and supported by Iran could get directly involved in the fighting,” he said.
He also said that Israel’s ground invasion of Gaza – which is inevitable – will have massive global implications.
“A ground war is going to happen. It is a bad idea for many reasons. It will kill enormous number of Palestinian civilians, it will be done in short order or without aid for the Palestinians to evacuate. It will lead to backlash around the world,” he said.
On being asked if he expects the widening of the Israel-Palestine conflict into a regional one, Mr Bremmer said that it is not World War 3, but the idea that is stays contained within Gaza is “far too imaginary”.
“It is not World War 3. The Russians and the Chinese will not get directly involved in this war. But the idea that is stays contained within Gaza is far too imaginary,” he said.
“We have already seen drone strikes against US military bases and equipment in the region. We have seen some squirmish at the Northern border of Israel with Hezbollah strikes. Some small incursions could also get bigger. We have seen dozens of Palestinians get killed in the West Bank. Israeli settlers have not yet been involved in that violence but it could easily spread out,” the Eurasia Group founder said.
Speaking on the economic impact of the Israel-Gaza war, Mr Bremmer said that it’s “negligible” unless Iran gets involved. “The Russian invasion of Ukraine had massive economic implications. In the case of Israel, it’s a tiny economy,” he said.
If Iran gets directly involved in the war, that will lead to wider implications, he said. “Strikes on Iran could probably lead to a major oil crisis that will drive the world into recession,” Mr Bremmer said.

Artillery duels in Europe. Terrorism in the Middle East. Chalk and cheese, right?
Not according to President Biden. The wars in Ukraine and Israel are linked, he said in an Oval Office address last night. “Hamas and Putin represent different threats, but they share this in common: They both want to completely annihilate a neighboring democracy,” Biden said.
True. But we should go one step further. Both wars, in Ukraine and Israel, are actually the same war. Call it the Central War.
This combined conflict isn’t quite World War III. Each prong is still regional. But this conflict is global in both its significance and its reach. And it is likely the brainchild of Russia and Iran.
Allow me to make this case.
First, the Middle East. In the last few days, there has been much that’s murky. We have heard, for instance, from The Wall Street Journal, that Iran gave the green light for the attack. Meanwhile, the New York Times informed us that Iranian officials were surprised by the Hamas attack. This sort of evidence is very difficult to weigh in real time. The truth will come eventually.
But other things are clear.
Iran and Hamas want largely the same thing: to finish the Holocaust. So does Hezbollah, Israel’s enemy in Lebanon to the north. Nor did Iran want Israel and Saudi Arabia to agree on normal relations. What better way to prevent that deal than a new Israeli war with the Palestinians? The Kingdom has been quiet about the subject since Hamas’s attack on Oct. 7, and experts say it’s out.
Meanwhile, the conflict could engulf the entire Middle East.
