HA! I knew it .. Criminals are protecting each other!
The story ..
Mr. Comey refused to answer a question from the committee chairman about whether the investigation the bureau conducted extended to the Clinton Foundation, which has faced questions about donations from foreign officials seeking to influence American policy.
“I’m not going to comment on the existence or nonexistence of other investigations,” he said.
“Was the Clinton Foundation tied into this investigation?” Mr. Chaffetz asked.
“I’m not going to answer that,” Mr. Comey said.
This raised questions immediately about why he refused to answer, and added to the confusion about the FBI’s decision not to recommend prosecution of Hillary Clinton.
New revelations about the connection between the Director and the Clinton Foundation indicate why he may have remained silent.
The Independent Journal Review reported on what they described as a “complex web of relationships” between Comey and Clinton.
The first thing to know about James Comey is that before he became the FBI Director in 2013, he was a top executive at Lockheed Martin from October, 2005 until July 2, 2010.
As former general counsel and vice president of Lockheed Martin, the defense contractor benefited under Comey’s leadership from a number of contracts awarded by Hillary Clinton’s State Department.
Lockheed Martin has been one of the top defense contributors to the Clinton Foundation:
Back in 2015, the International Business Times reported on the numerous contracts awarded to Lockheed Martin by the State Department while Hillary Clinton was the Secretary of State.
(IBT also noted that during Clinton’s tenure, there was an immense amount of arms sales to countries that donated money to the Clinton Foundation. Those deals totaled $165 billion between 2010 and 2012.)
One of the entries documented as a donation was a $250,000 payment to Bill Clinton for giving a speech in 2010. Just three days earlier, a weapons-export contract was awarded to none other than Lockheed Martin.
Three days before the speech, Hillary Clinton’s State Department approved two weapons export deals in which Lockheed was listed as the prime contractor. Over the course of 2010, Lockheed was a contractor on 17 Pentagon-brokered deals that won approval from the State Department. Lockheed told IBTimes that its support for the Clinton Foundation started in 2010, while Hillary Clinton was secretary of state.
“Lockheed Martin has periodically supported one individual membership in the Clinton Global Initiative since 2010,” said company spokesperson Katherine Trinidad. “Membership benefits included attendance at CGI annual meetings, where we participated in working groups focused on STEM, workforce development and advanced manufacturing.”
There’s an undoubted connection here. Since Comey was the general counsel and vice president at Lockheed Martin, there is simply no way that such a contract would be negotiated without his involvement at some level. The primary beneficiary of a weapons-export contract with the State Department does not simply exclude one of its top officials from discussing the details of the contract.
But a corrupt bargain it would seem to be, another one of a “Pay-to-Play” deals involving the Clintons. Fork over a few hundred thousand dollars to the Clintons, and you can have the whole world given to you on a platinum platter.
But the export contract at Lockheed Martin is not the only connection between Comey and Clinton; it didn’t stop once Comey transferred to the FBI and when Hillary left the State Department.
In 2013, Comey was brought on as a board member for the London-based HSBC bank, which has dealt with numerous scandals in recent years.
The problem here? HSBC is a major donating organization to the Clinton Foundation, as a report by The Guardian found in 2015.
The charitable foundation run by Hillary Clinton and her family has received as much as $81m from wealthy international donors who were clients of HSBC’s controversial Swiss bank.
Leaked files from HSBC’s Swiss banking division reveal the identities of seven donors to the Bill, Hillary and Chelsea Clinton Foundation with accounts in Geneva.
As a board member, are we to believe that he had absolutely no say in the granting of $81 million to a phony charity (which is nothing more than a slush-fund in reality) which he had direct financial ties to just a few years prior?
If you answer yes, you have not been paying attention.
This revelation should bring up even more questions about Director Comey’s relationship with the Clintons and the Foundation. More hearings may be in the near future for the Director.
But to be honest, it’s to a certain degree understandable that he declined to recommend prosecution, despite the scathing words he gave during the announcement. He had a good result of that relationship and would not want that kind of thing exposed, especially during one of the most watched criminal investigations in American history.
If he did discuss it, we may have seen a headline that read something along the lines of “FBI Director Found Dead of Apparent Suicide; Gunshots to Back of the Head.”
But that’s none of my business…
