PALM BEACH, Florida — Former President Donald Trump ripped Democrat President Joe Biden’s administration for allowing what Trump calls an “invasion” at the U.S. border with Mexico, something the former president likened to a “migration of civilization into our country.”
Trump’s comments, which came during a two-hour-long exclusive interview at his Mar-a-Lago resort on Thursday evening, come as Biden’s administration has been involved in talks with Mexico to try to stem the tide of migrants flowing into the country. They also come as lawmakers in Washington seek an elusive deal that would fund more aid to Ukraine—a Biden administration priority—in exchange for border reforms that Republicans in the Senate want.
Trump ripped Biden for not understanding the leverage that he says the United States has in negotiations with Mexico.
“He doesn’t understand anything—they went into Mexico today, hat in hand,” Trump said. “We have all the power—they have none of the power.”
Trump was referring to how Biden’s Secretary of State Antony Blinken met this week with Mexican foreign minister Alicia Barcena to produce what the Mexican president Andres Manuel Lopez Obrador—known as AMLO for short—called afterwards “important agreements.” A joint communication from Mexico and the United States that the Biden White House shared after the meeting stated the two countries’ commitment to “orderly, humane and regular migration.”
Trump thinks Biden got rolled by Mexico—something he says he would have never let happen when he was president. Trump told Breitbart News that when he took office in January 2017 after eight years of Democrat Barack Obama in the White House, there were many people streaming across the border. But Trump was able to significantly cut the flow down with deals like Remain-in-Mexico and other agreements with Northern Triangle countries in Central America—in addition to things like the implementation of Title 42 and the end of catch-and-release policies. But.now that Biden is in there, and because of the fact he ripped up Trump’s policies immediately upon taking office, Trump says now there is an “invasion” and a “migration of civilization into the country” unlike any other in world history. Trump also repeatedly pointed out his belief that many of the people coming in are from mental institutions worldwide, and that some are even terrorists.

Sen. Lindsey Graham said there is no more room in the U.S. for the continued migrants flooding over the southern border as he demanded President Joe Biden provide Congress the tools to stop the flow.
The South Carolina Republican senator said that the U.S. needs to focus on deporting those in the country illegally or awaiting to hear their asylum claims before more can be welcomed through legal avenues.
Graham also said that Republicans in Congress would agree to send more aid to Ukraine if the White House reaches a deal on overhauling the immigration system and border policies.
‘Title 42 authority needs to be applied here on the concept that America is full,’ Graham told CBS Face the Nation host Margaret Brennan on Sunday morning.
‘If you have to wait four years for an asylum hearing, let’s slow down the asylum system. 1.7 million people are ready to be deported,’ Graham added. ‘Let’s deport them before we let new people in.’

He said that ‘expedited [migrant] removal is on the table’ during Senate negotiations on a deal that would include an overhaul – but also foreign aid for Ukraine, Israel and Taiwan.
A deal was not reached before the Christmas holiday like lawmakers were pushing for.
Meanwhile, migration has not slowed – and even spiked – over the holiday months.
With nearly 242,500 encounters in November, there were points at which thousands of migrants were lining up after crossing the border illegally and hoping to be granted asylum claims.

WASHINGTON — President Biden proclaimed January as Human Trafficking Prevention Month on Friday — outraging critics who say he’s to blame for record-breaking levels of people-smuggling along the US-Mexico border, where monthly illegal crossings hit an all-time high this month.
Biden’s statement decreeing the annual recognition was issued by the White House press office while he vacations in St. Croix and calls for “safe, orderly, and humane migration” despite chaotic scenes at the southern border — words notably absent from last year’s similar edict.
“It’s just disgusting that he wants to declare human trafficking awareness month,” Tom Homan, former acting director of US Immigration and Customs Enforcement, told The Post.
“If anybody needs to be aware of human trafficking, it’s him. He’s enriched the human traffickers because of his lack of enforcing the border,” Homan said. “They’re making record amounts of money moving record amounts of people because of his intentional un-securing of the border.”
Mark Morgan, former acting commissioner of US Customs and Border Protection, said: “President Biden’s open border policies have undeniably unleashed a persistent tidal wave of illegal immigration pouring across our borders, resulting in the United States being complicit in the world’s largest human smuggling and trafficking operation in modern history.”
The White House released the proclamation amid reports that 276,000 people were detained for illegally crossing the southern border in the first 27 days of December, exceeding September’s record of nearly 270,000 over the same period.
“More than 27 million people around the world endure the abhorrent abuse of human trafficking and forced labor, including thousands of people right here in the United States,” Biden’s statement read. “It is a threat to global security, public safety, and human dignity.”
