Rep. Matt Gaetz (R-FL), who led the charge on removing Kevin McCarthy as Speaker of the House, has filed an ethics complaint against McCarthy after he reportedly assaulted Rep. Tim Burchett.
As the Gateway Pundit previously reported, Andy Biggs of Arizona, Ken Buck of Colorado, Tim Burchett of Tennessee, Eli Crane of Arizona, Matt Gaetz of Florida, Bob Good of Virginia, Nancy Mace of South Carolina, and Matt Rosendale of Montana got fed up with McCarthy selling out to Democrats and decided America needed a new Speaker.
But McCarthy would not go quietly. Gaetz and Mace also revealed that McCarthy was working behind the scenes to derail any potential candidate for Speaker, including Jim Jordan, arguably the most popular Republican in Congress.
Now, drama in the House of Representatives today, as McCarthy apparently elbowed Congressman Burchett in the back with a “clean shot to the kidneys,” says Burchett. Burchett later told reporters, “He’s a bully with a $17 million security detail.”

Rep. Kevin McCarthy, R-Calif., has been accused of shoving a Republican congressman who helped oust him as House speaker.
In an on-camera interview from the Capitol Hill outdoor steps after the alleged incident, Rep. Tim Burchett, R-Tenn., alleged McCarthy came up and took a “cheap shot from behind.”
“You don’t expect that sort of thing from an adult, certainly not one who was once third in line for the White House,” Burchett said.
Burchett told reporters that McCarthy’s actions seemed “deliberate.”
“I’ll take a polygraph test. And have Kevin take a polygraph test,” he said. “It was deliberate. It was just a cheap shot by a bully.”

Republican Reps. Kevin McCarthy and Tim Burchett were allegedly involved in a physical altercation in the Capitol on Tuesday, with one reporter describing the men yelling at one another in the hallway as a “chase” unfolded.
NPR’s Claudia Grisales described the interaction on X, writing that former House Speaker McCarthy instigated the incident while Burchett’s back was turned to him.
“I have NEVER seen this on Capitol Hill,” Grisales wrote. “While talking to Rep. Tim Burchett after the GOP conference meeting, former Speaker McCarthy walked by with his detail and McCarthy shoved Burchett. Burchett lunged towards me. I thought it was a joke, it was not. And a chase ensued.”
She continued: “Burchett responded jokingly as McCarthy kept walking, ‘Sorry Kevin didn’t mean to elbow –‘ then seriously yelled, ‘why’d you elbow me in the back Kevin?! Hey Kevin, you got any guts!?'”
