After “quietly” waiting for exoneration failed, Hunter Biden is now launching a “counteroffensive” as he faces the prospect of multiple criminal charges, according to an in-depth report on Tuesday.
Politico reported that for years, Biden was “told to cooperate with prosecutors and wait quietly for exoneration,” a strategy “favored by veteran Democrats.”
However, now he is “directly taking on his adversaries” — filing a barrage of lawsuits and attacking the prosecution as tainted by Republican pressure, the report said.
The new strategy was seen on Tuesday as his lawyer Abbe Lowell said his client would be willing to testify in front of the House Oversight Committee in its impeachment probe of President Joe Biden, but only if it was a public hearing.
Committee Chairman James Comer (R-KY) promptly denied that request, given that closed-door depositions before a public hearing are common. The committee said Hunter Biden would have the opportunity to testify publicly at a later date.

Earlier on Tuesday Hunter Biden’s attorneys agreed to sit before Chairman James Comer’s House Oversight and Reform Committee, but only if it was in public.
This was after Hunter Biden was subpoenaed by the committee earlier this month.
Later today former acting Attorney General Matt Whitaker and FOX News legal expert Gregg Jarrett reminded the FOX News audience that Hunter and his attorney do not get to set the rules and guidelines for his subpoena.
Matt Whittaker went further and said if Hunter Biden does not sit for a subpoenaed deposition then he should be held in contempt of Congress like Steve Bannon and Peter Navarro were when they refused to sit for the sham January 6 Select Committee’s inquisition.

Apparently, someone convinced Hunter Biden he could bully Rep. James Comer, who heads up the House Oversight Committee investigating Biden family corruption. Let’s just say that’s not going very well.
Things started on Tuesday morning when Hunter Biden’s lawyer Abbe Lowell let it be known that his client would graciously comply with the congressional subpoena issued by Comer. The catch was that the president’s son only wanted to appear in a public hearing.
On Tuesday morning Hunter Biden’s attorney Abbe Lowell informed the House Oversight Committee that his client would comply with a subpoena issued earlier in the month by Chairman James Comer, but only for public testimony. The subpoena specifically requires Hunter to sit for a closed door deposition.
Public testimony is always a political risk for whatever committee is investigating. Hillary Clinton testifying on the Benghazi tragedy is probably the best example. With the cameras rolling, Clinton was able to be combative, partisan, and dismissive. In her corner were the Democrats on the committee ready to push narratives that would inevitably be clipped for the nightly newscasts.
