New York City’s Democrat Mayor Eric Adams on Thursdaya called on the federal government to implement a “decompression strategy” to deal with the massive influx of asylum-seekers and ease pressure on its migrant shelters.
NOver 130,000 migrants from around the world have poured into NYC since last year.

A spokesperson for Adam said on Friday the city has set up a “reticketing center” where migrants can secure a plane ticket.
The city will increase efforts “to purchase tickets for migrants to help them take the next steps in their journeys.”
“It helps us triage operations” for new arrivals at The Roosevelt Hotel, the spokesperson said, referring to a once-closed hotel that was reopened as a shelter for asylum seekers earlier this year.
Adams said that the city has taken in a massive amount of illegal migrants compared to other parts of the country.

Earlier this month, Hamas launched the largest coordinated attack against Israel in more than 50 years, leaving over 1,400 dead in its wake. To carry out its heinous attack, Hamas penetrated one of the most secure borders in the world.
Over 6,000 miles away, we, too, face a crisis at our borders. Americans have lived through the crime, fentanyl deaths, and human trafficking that have come with an open border. The atrocities committed by Hamas highlight yet another threat to America posed by our own border crisis: terrorism.
Customs and Border Protection has encountered over 7 million illegal aliens since January 2021 who have poured across President Joe Biden’s open border. This does not include the more than 1.5 million known “gotaways” who evaded the Border Patrol.
At least 172 migrants that Customs and Border Protection has apprehended between ports of entry matched those on the terrorist watchlist during fiscal year 2023. This compares to three in 2020. That’s an increase of over 5,000%.
On Monday, it was reported that at least two Iranian nationals on the watchlist had been apprehended in the first two weeks of October. So concerning is the threat of terrorists entering the United States that the president of Guatemala is highlighting the dangers posed by inaction to secure the border. And yet, the Biden administration has continued to ignore the crisis.
In fact, just two days before the attack on Israel, Department of Homeland Security Secretary Alejandro Mayorkas released a statement reaffirming the administration’s opposition to border walls. Since the attack on Israel, there has been no indication of a change in course from the Biden administration.
As the administration has continued down its path of unlimited illegal immigration, the door has been wide open for the terrorists to come in and broaden their operations in the U.S. Charles Marino, former senior law enforcement advisor at DHS, alerted members of Congress that terrorist groups “can and will exploit our open borders with help of the Mexican cartels.” If you thought the border crisis couldn’t get any worse, … it can.

The U.S. Customs and Border Protection (CBP) issued a warning to staff that Iranian-backed terrorists of Hamas, Hezbollah, and Palestinian Islamic Jihad (PIJ) may try to cross the U.S. southern border with Mexico in an attempt to enter the country illegally, according to leaked government documents.
In an intelligence notice by the agency’s San Diego Field Office’s Intelligence Division, CBP officials warn that individuals “inspired by, or reacting to, the current Israel-Hamas conflict may attempt travel to or from the area of hostilities in the Middle East via circuitous transit across the Southwest border.”
“Foreign fighters motivated by ideology or mercenary soldiers of fortune may attempt to obfuscate travel to or from the US to or from countries in the Middle East through Mexico,” the document added.

Arrests of people on terror watch list higher than last 6 fiscal years combined

Border officials arrested 18 people on the FBI’s terror watch list in September, making fiscal year 2023 a record year for such encounters at the southern border.
According to Customs and Border Protection (CBP) statistics released Saturday, 169 people on the FBI terror watch lists were encountered between ports of entry at the southern border in the past 12 months, a number that exceeds not only fiscal year 2022’s record-setting total (98) but the last six fiscal years combined.
With encounters between ports at the northern border included, the total for fiscal year 2023 was 172.
The encounters between ports of entry are eclipsed by those who are encountered at the ports themselves. Overall, there were 564 encounters at ports, just slightly higher than fiscal year 2019, when there were 538.
The watch list, now officially called the Terrorist Screening Dataset, is the U.S. database that contains information on terrorist identities and includes not only known or suspected terrorists but also affiliates of watch-listed individuals.
“Encounters of watchlisted individuals at our borders are very uncommon, underscoring the critical work CBP Agents and Officers carry out every day on the front lines,” the agency states on its website. “DHS works tirelessly to secure our borders through a combination of highly trained personnel, ground and aerial monitoring systems, and robust intelligence and information sharing networks.”
The numbers come as part of a record number of migrant encounters at the southern border, which even eclipse last year’s enormous totals. September itself marked a record month for the border.
