Ukraine, Russia Carry Out Attacks to Start New Year

Published January  1, 2024

Russia and Ukraine reported deadly attacks Monday, as the two sides carried out shelling and drone assaults and Ukraine began another year working to repel Russia’s invasion.

The Russia-installed head of the occupied Donetsk region in eastern Ukraine said shelling in the city of Donetsk killed four people and injured 13 others.

In southern Ukraine, Governor Oleg Kiper said falling debris from a thwarted Russian drone attack hit residential buildings in Odesa, killing one person and wounding three others.

Ukraine’s air defenses shot down several drones in the Lviv region in western Ukraine, officials there said.

Overall, Ukraine’s air force said Monday that Russia launched a record 90 drones in multiple waves, with Ukrainian air defenses downing 87 of them.

Five people have been killed in New Year’s Day attacks on Ukraine’s southern Odesa region and the Russian-occupied eastern city of Donetsk, amid escalating conflict between Moscow and Kyiv.

Denis Pushilin, the Russian-installed head of the broader Donetsk region, said four people had been killed in Donetsk, accusing Ukraine of “massive shelling from multiple launch rocket systems”.

At least 14 people had been injured, he added.

Oleh Kiper, the governor of the Odesa region, meanwhile, said one person had been killed after a Russian air raid on Odesa.

Kiper said that Ukraine’s air defence systems were engaged in repelling the drone attack, but the falling debris caused several fires in residential buildings in different parts of the city, and at least three people had been injured.

A social media video, posted by Odesa Mayor Henadii Trukhanov, showed him inspecting a damaged apartment with broken windows.

“They say that how you welcome the New Year is how you will live the year,” Trukhanov said in the post.

“Well, this year Ukraine will break this rule: We will persevere and we will win.

Ukraine’s Air Force said that Russian air attacks also targeted the Mykolaiv and Dnipro regions, as well as the city of Lviv.

Russia has been striking Kharkiv in recent days
Published December 31, 2024

Ukraine has come under attack by Russian air strikes again, officials say, after two days of major aerial assaults by both sides.

Most attacks were concentrated on Kharkiv in the east, but explosions were also reported elsewhere.

Moscow said it was retaliating against Ukrainian strikes on the Russian border city of Belgorod on Saturday, which killed at least 24 people.

That came after Russia carried out air strikes across Ukraine on Friday.

Kyiv said those Russian attacks, which killed at least 45 people, were the biggest missile bombardment of the war so far.

The latest Russian strikes happened as Ukraine entered its final day of 2023.

Russia’s defence ministry said the attack on Kharkiv, including on a hotel, was a direct response to Saturday’s strikes on Belgorod, and that it had used high-precision missiles to hit military targets in the city.

However, Ukraine says not a single military facility was hit. A defence ministry spokesperson told local media that Russia deliberately hit civilian infrastructure to cause as much damage as possible.

On Sunday, Ukraine’s air force reported it had destroyed 21 of 49 Russian drones launched overnight, with most attacks aimed at the Kharkiv, Kherson, Mykolaiv and Zaporizhzhia regions.

Ukraine’s air defence systems in the region surrounding the capital Kyiv were also engaged late on Saturday to repel a Russian drone attack, the military administration of the region said on Telegram.

Why do CO2 lag behind temperature?

71% of the earth is covered by ocean, water is a 1000 times denser than air and the mass of the oceans are 360 times that of the atmosphere, small temperature changes in the oceans doesn’t only modulate air temperature, but it also affect the CO2 level according to Henry’s Law.

The reason it is called “Law” is because it has been “proven”!

“.. scientific laws describe phenomena that the scientific community has found to be provably true ..”

That means, the graph proves CO2 do not control temperature, that again proves (Man Made) Global Warming, now called “Climate Change” due to lack of … Warming is – again – debunked!
